So as we all know it’s cold. Basically all the time, apart from a week or 2 in July. Coats are essential to everyone’s wardrobe, wherever you are from. I’ve chosen 3 of my coats to show to you how I style them, price ranges and accessories to go with.
My long pink coat from H&M that I’ve had for about 2 years is a go to for me. It isn’t super thick so I can layer and also wear when it isn’t too cold. The length gives you warmth on your legs for when it is colder and the colour being this muted baby pink goes really nicely with essentially everything.
This coat was around the £60 mark, so great value for the kind of quality and coat you are getting. It is fully lined and has a slit at the bottom to allow for easier walking and shape.
What I love about this coat is that it goes with all of my bags, this Dune nude crossbody goes perfectly with the muted pink tones in the coat and adds more texture with the quilted detail. I love wearing this long coat with mini skirts and tights as it brings the look together and makes it more polished and sophisticated. As it is a long coat in one colour, adding patterns underneath break up the block colouring and make the look more interesting.
My favourite coat. This Tommy Hilfiger x Gigi Hadid wind breaker is my true love. Although it is around the £200 mark, to me it is worth every penny.
As the name suggests it is a windbreaker/light rain coat, so it is thin. However, the double lining means you cannot feel wind hit you, like at all! There is a roll up hood in the collar for rain, Velcro on the cuffs to tighten so no wind can get in, and adjustable ties at the bottom to have it as loose or as tight as you want.
This collection Tommy did with Gigi, was the last out of 3 they did together. This range was my favourite as it was loosely themed around racing. As a car lover myself I loved the idea of having racing like badges on my clothes and, black, red and white striped colour schemes. I have some other clothes from this collection but this coat wins for me. Even though it has the extra badge like prints on the jacket, it goes with everything. I love to wear this with an all black outfit to let the coat speak for itself. The monochromatic style with the block colour sleeves and the extra details in the red piping really make this coat truly unique, and paired with this top shop red bag really brings out those qualities. I feel like this is a cool version of a rain coat you had to always wear at school or on school trips.
Last but not least, my teddy coat. I feel like everyone has one of these now but they are just sooo snugly. My teddy coat is from Zara and was around £70. Fully lined and super thick, I got mine big enough so you can generously layer underneath and it’s perfect. I love the length, there’s something about longer coats that make it seem so much more warm and comforting. The stone colour and black details go with everything in your wardrobe. I’ve even warn it to work and I have to wear red and white!
You can easily dress this coat up with wearing a smarter outfit underneath but i also love to dress it down. My go to outfits are usually jeans, my white Nike’s and a jumper. I love lighter toned clothing which pairs really nicely with this warm stone shade of the coat. the black buttons and lining go really well with my black handbag too, I also sometimes use the nude Dune bag with this coat as well and the mixture of textures look really nice.
So basically you can’t ever have enough coats, they all serve their own purpose and can change up a look and style so drastically. These 3 are the ones I would recommend in each category. What coats do you love wearing?
